How to label and license source code?

I have an open source .NET application. I want to capture it on my website and invite users to purchase a license in order to remove it. But how can I do this if I give out the source code? What is the best way to do this without affecting performance as well?

First, you need to ask yourself what you want to achieve. When you release software to the open source community, you can make money with support, etc. When people buy your software, if you do not have a patent for it, they do not buy it for the code itself. Instead, they buy it because you have already taken the time to do it. They themselves can create this just a factor of time and money. It’s cheaper to buy it from you, as it’s already done. If your customers start copying your source everywhere without paying you, then they may be the wrong types of customers for you. If you want to openly publish your source, then sell your software with other things, such as your ability to know the market better, your status will be ahead of the game, having already spent a lot of time on this particular need that you are filling, etc. If you think that the actual code is something that everyone is really interested in, then maybe just look at the release of compiled libraries to help people read your source easily. In my experience, the source is easy to get, even if you compile the DLL, and clients, especially business clients, will still pay, because they pay for your software that is already done, and I hope a long-standing relationship with you for more amount of software to the future! In my experience, the source is easy to get, even if you compile the DLL, and clients, especially business clients, will still pay, because they pay for your software that is already done, and I hope a long-standing relationship with you for more amount of software to the future! In my experience, the source is easy to get, even if you compile the DLL, and clients, especially business clients, will still pay, because they pay for your software that is already done, and I hope a long-standing relationship with you for more amount of software to the future!
