As a young, inexperienced developer working with one person for a client, I thought that I only need a laptop and development environment when they ask me if I need anything. Start with some testing first, and I understand that I need to test my software on operating systems that I don’t have access to.

• a written agreed specification of what I was supposed to do (if they did not pay me by the hour for open support)
