Freezing Manipulation at Home

Is there any way to make firebug (or any other browser or use some other tool) to stop any manipulations with dom? Sometimes a layout debugging a screen filled with hover events is not possible because the elements may disappear and you cannot see their composite layout.

This is actually pretty easy to do for pages that don't constantly and autonomously change (even comet apps can be relatively stable for a few seconds): just save the page using firefox. It will save the current state, ignoring all javascript and events. Moreover, styles will be easy to view.

I will freeze DOM Manipulation in FF using Firebug, right-clicking on Node and set "Stop on adding / changing child"
