Multithreading Manager

According to a single-threaded application with long-term calculation, the MSDN example allows you to create a flexible graphical interface in just 1 thread. Thanks to the object Dispatcher, since we can set the priority of work items.

My question is, what is the point of performing simple tasks (suppose we have only one single-core processor) in the background thread, when is this possible?

thank
