Why doesn't my notifyicon application exit when I use Application.Exit () or Form.Close ()?

I have a Windows form application that goes into the Notifyicon system tray, and I tried calling Application.Exit () or Me.Close () to close the program. But does not work to close the program. What is the correct way to close it?
