Does anyone know what it means ^Boat the beginning of an encoded string? The rest of the line is ASCII.

Example: "^BoHello"should be interpreted as "Hello"
Note: '^B'is a control character0x02

Ascii 0x02 - "beginning of the text" - never seen to be used, perhaps a hangover from some old system
