How to create a custom website app page for sharepoint in VS2010?

Question

I am very new to Sharepoint, and I am not 100% sure if this is the right way to do it, but here it goes. I have a very simple homepage where I want to load a custom application page. On this page of the application, I want to have 2 web parts. I would like to be able to create and edit this application page inside vs2010 so that I can get it on the team server.

I tried to right-click on my solution and add> a new> application page, but I don’t know how to upload it to my Sharepoint site and add it to the main page or main page. I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction or give me a more suitable design plan. Thank.

I was able to achieve what I wanted in a few steps.

• Inside the sharepoint constructor, create the main web part page.
• In the visual studio, create an application page. Add> New Item> Application Page.
