I am looking for some advice on renting an SMS processing gateway.
In principle, (without going into details), I want my clients to be able to send a formatted txt from their mobile (common technology) to the SMS gateway (through the service number). Then I would like this gateway to execute the http (or https) command to populate the database located in our domain. The final game is that this txt creates a request that initiates a workflow.
Now I do not have a full specification of requirements, except that we will need to use a mobile phone to initiate the workflow, since access to the Internet will not always be guaranteed (we work in some of the most remote and hostile environments on the old mother land!) .
Has anyone used any sms service that is simple and inexpensive and, more importantly, is not tied to a contract that includes a requirement of 000 txt per month (it will be at most 10-20 txt per day, so it’s not monetary counter for the owner of the mobile / gateway).
We will implement the domain area in .net and are convenient in this technology. So, if the http message is the xml / json or simple querystring parameters, this does not concern us. The main problem is that we have recommendations for a reliable service gateway that receives messages and runs the http command in any format we specify.
