I was taught that some icons are poorly translated. For example, a check mark (check mark) does not matter in some cultures, etc.

In practice, I have not seen many examples of badges that do not move well. Perhaps the problem was overstated or the globalization of culture.

It is difficult to list all the combinations for the whole culture and all the characters.

The simpler the symbol, the more it matters. It has more than one meaning, even within the same culture.
