I want to show ads on my site without risking the user. Ads should be unobtrusive and combine well with the rest of my design.
The best advertising implementation I have found is the ads in the Facebook skyscraper, shown on the right, when visiting a profile. These ads are transparent, not misleading at all, and do not reduce the visual quality of the rest of the site’s design. Is there an advertising service that offers a Facebook advertising layout?
Google AdSense is the best provider I've found so far, but it still looks awful to me. What I am missing in AdSense is the following:
Ads consisting of a small static image mixed with some text, such as ads in a Facebook skyscraper. AdSense ads for text ads are very distracting because they add too much textual information to your page (and underlined links don't look good ...), and the images in image-only ads are large.
The ability to serve only static image ads, disable flash animations, etc., since animated ads are extremely annoying.
Are there any AdSense alternatives that offer all this?
