I am trying to make the upgrade path for Lite to the full version of the application, which can store an indefinite amount of data (I do not want to do this when buying the application).
I would like to be able to update using a custom url without needing an online presence to cache the data.
So I thought about using the UIPastboard object.
Does anyone know or conduct any investigations regarding the maximum size of data stored on a UIP card? There doesn't seem to be any apple documentation I can find on this.
Will it differ from device to device? that is, is RAM limited?
I tried a file with a size of 50 MB and I know that this fails (even in the simulator), although a 5 MB file is fine. It is impossible to find out if this worked until you came to get data using dataForPasteboardType:
Also, has anyone made 2 custom application urls that will do some kind of request / response? I thought I could support arbitrary size data this way ...
