Sending an array of bytes directly to the printer

My service converts the report into an array of bytes and passes it to the client (wpf application) using the following code:

byte[] bytes = renderer.ServerReport.Render("PDF", deviceInfo, out mimeType, out encoding, out extension, out streamids, out warnings);

where renderer is an instance of Microsoft.Reporting.Webforms.ReportViewer. Here's the problem: the encoding output parameter returns null, so the encoding information could not be found.

The user interface should print this byte array silently on the printer. Can this byte array be sent directly to the printer instead of converting it back to a PDF file in the user interface and then printing?

I really tried something like below by looking at the msdn link, but this prints weirder characters on as many pages when the actual report is just one or two pages. There is less information about the winspool dll features online, so I'm not sure where I am going wrong.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I kept my original implementation when I sent the PDF file to the printer, because byte transfer directly to the printer did not work.
