A tool for graphically invoking methods over time

I am looking for a tool that allows graphical methods to call over time for a java application. Perhaps a profiler or other log analysis tool?

I know that I can write something in python, and I will work on it. I was just hoping not to reinvent the wheel.

edit:

What I ended up with was writing some python to analyze my magazines and take snapshots at intervals of 5 seconds. Then I used google docs and a spreadsheet to visualize my data with a chart that had 2 data columns: time and frequency. Google docs were very helpful. Use the "motion chart for your own sheet" for a good view in full screen. I will write my python when I clean it a bit.

here is a graph of the output from the method that I indicate in my comment

VisualVM is a visual tool that combines several JDK tools with the command line and lightweight profiling capabilities. Designed for use in both production and development, it further expands the monitoring and analysis capabilities of the Java SE platform.
