Add new fields to Windows Explorer using C #

Question

Is there a way to add additional fields to the Windows browser information view? Like the image dimensions or the SVN Status field that TortoiseSVN adds?

I have a program that lists information about each file in a folder, I just think it would be much easier to use if I could do this.

The Property System allows you to do this in Vista and later. Windows XP did the same using the Column Shell Extensions .
