LaTeX, footnote

Question

I am writing a document in which I want to have a footnote with this text:

University of xyz
Email: [e-mail]
[e-mail]

I entered this command:

\footnote{University of xyz \\ Email: [e-mail] \\ [e-mail]}

and the result is as follows:

   1. University of xyz
Email: [e-mail]
[e-mail]

It does not look beautiful. I want it to go under the line as follows:

1. University of xyz
   Email: [e-mail]
          [e-mail]

How can i get this?

Try using the \ thanks command and see if this works.
