How to display a custom object under the "Extensions" tab in the workplace?

I created a new custom object called Sports Leagues. Now I'm wondering how to display / use this under the Extensions tab in the workplace?

On the screen where you are setting up a new object, there is a section on the General tab called “Areas displaying this object” - select the “Workplace” checkbox.

Export the site map, find the area with the identifier = "workplace". Find the "Extensions" group or add:

<Group Id="Extensions" ResourceId="Group_Extensions">
  <SubArea Id="sportsleagues" Entity="new_sportsleagues" />
</Group>

You did not forget to publish a new object? workplace ticking and publishing an object should be all you need to do.
