What existing language functions are the most difficult to implement and why?

Looking at some features of the language, I sometimes wonder how someone could implement such functionality. So my question is, which of the many existing language features is the hardest to implement ? An explanation of why this is so welcome (perhaps even required?).

To maintain order, please use only one function per message.
