The sequence of events and all the hooks available in System.Windows.Forms

Is there any explanation of the sequence of events that occur when creating, manipulating and closing System.Windows.Forms of various forms and components? Is there an explanation of all the possible hooks that I can override, and the order in which they are called, and what happens between their calls?

I ran into many possible problems because I do not have a good understanding of what is happening here under the hood.
