Is using XML and XSLT a good way to create a web page?

Question

I just learn about how to use the XML and XSLT data file to create a web page (conversion from XML to HTML or XHTML). But I have never seen an XML source webpage linking to an XSLT file. Isn't that a good solution?

I don't think this is a good architecture for public websites:

• Although most browsers will support client-side XSLT, not all will
• Even so, browser compatibility issues like javascript may occur
• The ability to view source code is an incredibly useful debugging tool. You cannot do this with XSL
