Resources for Excel in Visual Studio

I was tasked with rewriting an old excel book full of ugly vb macros. Basically, this is a simple data entry and some reporting functions. I am not a super experience with Excel, but I can get around.

I know that visual studio has project types for excel, but I'm not quite sure what is possible. I am a C # developer and I would really like it to be crappy vb macros.

Are there resources for learning how to write plugins and books in C #? Google doesn't seem to help me much. Do I really need some good examples and should I be good to go?

Generally, I can’t find many good resources for excel at all? Most of them are old or worthless. Any recommendations?

I do a lot of spreadsheet manipulation in C # through the COM interface. You can find examples and additional information from MS here .

If your spreadsheets are simple, you can also use the ADO.Net interfaces (described here ), but I could never understand how this would work for complex worksheets.
