Is TWebBrowser dependent on IE version?

I’m thinking about using the TWebBrowser component, which is part of Delphi by default for component pallets in the project, but I wonder if it uses the version of IE installed on the client machine?

If yes:
then I assume that he would share his story, cookies, work, etc. Can I separate them?
Is there any component of the web browser that is free and not shared with Internet Explorer on the client?

Yes, TWebBrowser uses any version of IE installed on the computer. Take a look at this similar thread for possible alternatives.

The current answer is not entirely correct. It is displayed for compatibility purposes, the WebBrowser control will work in IE7 standard mode by default, unless you add some registry settings.

See http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2008/03/18/webbrowser-control-rendering-modes-in-ie8.aspx and also http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ ie / archive / 2009/03/10 / more-ie8-extensibility-improvements.aspx

IE. , - - !

TWebBrowser is a wrapper for the IE ActiveX interface. So in the end

 TWebBrowser = Internet Explorer

Yes, TWebBrowser is tied to Internet Explorer. If you want a standalone HTML viewer, take a look at PBear components.
