Kalman Filter for Car Tracking

I have a set of points, such as Point(x,y). After the car has gone through so many paths on the same road, it is almost messy. I heard that the Kalman filter can make the sigma path out of the available paths.

Can anyone tell how to do this? I'm not from computer science. So please explain this concept and these matrices to me. Then I will encode them. Please someone enlighten me about the concept.

As far as I know, the Kalman filter is able to combine several sources of the same information in order to obtain a more accurate measurement of the observed variable. It could also be combined with the same measuring device, measured several times. Here is a good introduction: INTRO , AnotherOne

I don't know if this question is still active, but if you want to know more about the Kalman filter, I can strongly recommend this short matlab script. Even if you don't have Matlab installed, it should be the simplest example for Kalman, which you are likely to find!

Assuming the car is traveling in the middle of the road, these estimated (filtered) x, y values are what you can take as the middle of the road. I saw your question just now. I know this late, but hope this helps?
