How do I target a wide version of Microsoft Office Interop collections?

My development computer has 2007 installed, and the project refers to the corresponding version of the PIA, but I would like my application to work since 2003, at least when deployed. I tried to set the Specific Version property of the link to false, but that didn't work. My version of Visual Studio is 2005, BTW.

Use later than earlier bindings (in other words, do not refer to any PIAs). This MS kb article shows the difference.
