How to enable debug and trace logging for weblogic?

I understand that there are so many ways to do this - it’s just not entirely clear which one I should use. Some of the answers on google do not work, and the documents on the site are muddy for me. thank

The fastest way is to specify a JVM system property of type -Dweblogic.debug.YOURSUBSYSTEM, as well as -Dweblogic.log.StdoutSeverity = "Debug"

or alternatively install it from the WebLogic console on the server / debug / weblogic / YOURSUBSYSTEM and do not forget to set the log severity level in Debug for the server you are troubleshooting
