Custom fields cannot be displayed in the left pane of the Gantt view (SharePoint 2010)

Question

I created a custom field type that inherits from SPFieldNumber. Then I created a column of this type in the list and created a Gantt view.

The problem is that the column does not appear in the left pane of the Gantt view.

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

In SharePoint 2010 clouds, the user interface is rendered using XSL Transformation, so for you to display the field in the list view, you need to write your own XSL for your field that you developed.
