Period on the manual page?

I have a bold line followed by a line starting with a period. manthinks that .this is the beginning of the team ... is there a way to "escape" from him?

.B bold words
./something

./somethingis a terminal input command, not a macro man. I want to mandisplay it.

Things I tried: ../something \./something

According to the GNU Troff manual , you must put \&before a period that should not be interpreted as the beginning of a command, i.e.

.B bold words
\&./something
