What are some good fonts for user interfaces? What about Unicode?

I am working on a user interface, and I wonder what fonts use other software in their interface, such as Photoshop, Windows, etc. They can't use Arial and Tahoma, right? This is the web application I'm working on and I can use @ font-face.

But what about Unicode support? I would not want to set restrictions on i18n.
