How to write a Microsoft Word / Office Open XML document using Perl?

I wrote a Perl script that reads some data and generates an OpenOffice Writer / OpenDocument file for that data. Can I also create a Microsoft Word / Office Open XML document?

You can use the Open XML SDK 2.0 for Microsoft Office to read MS Word documents.

You may need to write a shell to use it with your Perl script.
