Password not accepted for newly created user in SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise

I understand the limitation of strong password choices in SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise. I have software that must use a specific password that runs on a standard version of SQL Server; however, Enterprise refuses to add the user because the password is weak and does not meet the requirements.

Is there a workaround for this? The server is intended for testing, so it is not a production server.

You need to change the Local Security Policy in the "Account Policies", "Password Policy" section: "Password must meet complexity requirements" to Disabled
