In Drupal 6, what is the fastest way to customize the WYSIWYG editor with code syntax highlighting and image loading?

I saw a lot of messages in random places about how to set up the WYSIWYG editor for Drupal 6. I got lucky with CKEditor and FCKEditor through the WYSIWYG Drupal module. Everything is fine there, but I hit the break point when I try to add syntax highlighting and image loading functionality. Any procedure I try to do is very cumbersome and does not work (the last one I tried used CKEditor + WYSIWYG + GeSHi Filter (with hack) (described here ).

I cannot get any combination to work properly so far, and there are too many variables / combinations to try. Does anyone have experience with a solution that works without any problems?

I found a great blog post that almost answered my question here . There, Clifford Meece gives step-by-step instructions on how to configure WYSIWYG modules using TinyMCE and Syntaxhighlighter. It also guides you through adding a few small modules that fix some usability issues.

IMCE IMCE WYSIWYG Bridge /all/modules. IMCE readme.txt WYSIWYG .
