Indication of stress in a cubic Bezier curve

I am trying to create PathGeometryone that approximates a series of segments of an orthogonal line using cubic Bezier curves in Wpf. I came across an article about msdn that describes Cardinal Splinesin GDI + that almost exactly what I want to accomplish.

For the most part, I have been successful, but now I need to implement a property that controls the "smoothness" of the curve, as the tension property described in this article. The article says that a value of 1.0 for stress leads to a "path of least complete bend."

What does this mean for control points of a cubic bezier curve? Where will they be placed relative to the endpoints to achieve this effect?

Note. Since the line segments are orthogonal, the angle between two consecutive segments is always 90 degrees. I am not sure if this simplifies anything.

Here is the image from the article for convenience. The red squares indicate the end points, and the numbers indicate the voltage, although I am most interested in values from 0.0 to 1.0 inclusive. alt text http://i.msdn.microsoft.com/dynimg/IC133548.gif

Look at this link for tension normal. reference: Asymptotic documentation - Beziers

In this case, the line connecting the midpoints of the control lines should be tangent to the curve.
