C # with SQL (ADO.Net vs others?)

I am new to C # with MSSQL, so I was wondering what is the most reliable vs Easy method to connect my C # application to MSSQL for normal reading / adding / editing / updating / deleting .....

which way should i take? I just want a reliable way to get the job done.

Note: using VS2010

ADO.NET is pretty easy to use!

You may want to play with the Entity Framework later, but I highly recommend that you start with simple things and try to understand the basics first.
