Like "Reply to this email to comment" like Facebook?

An application like the forum I'm working on will send an email notification to the thread starter when a new response is received. It would be nice if the owner could just reply to the letter to add a new response to the stream.

How can I implement this function, i.e. "reply to this email to comment" how is Facebook?

Option A: view topic / body? I don’t like it because if the user mistakenly changed the subject line?

Option B: Use a unique response to the email address that refers to the stream identifier. Is this a common feature for the mail server? for example, create *@addComment.domain.com? Or should the application server configure a new email account before sending an email with a response to?

Any other options?

Thank!

Using strings in the object and body can be easily removed by the system user.

Use the addressing address ( reply+UNIQUEIDENTIFIER@yourapplication.com ) as the REPLY-TO address in the mail message. With CFIMAP you can receive messages and analyze TO.

Using a special email header is not recommended, as there is no guarantee that any server on the route will not disconnect it (or simply cannot transmit it). A friend who worked at AT & T's huge email processing center said tech experts had warned him about this idea.

This may also be true for Message-ID: - I do not know.
