Is Facebooker for Rails relevant and applicable for facebook app development?

Question

I'm having difficulty following facebook_tutorial at http://apps.facebook.com/facebooker_tutorial/ and wondering if this plugin supports the current Facebook API? For example, I try to send a notification or message in the news feed, but I get errors such as the "Undefined method", but I do everything as in the tutorial.

And what are the differences between Facebooker and Facebooker2? Is there facebooker2 written by the same author? I found only a simple readme and no mentors.
