SAS Alternative for MAC

Can you recommend me any alternatives to SAS for Mac? I would not use any parallel solution. What are the advantages of Oracle technology over SAS?

If you are already familiar with SAS, there is JMP - it is developed by SAS and works on Windows, Mac and Linux.

WPS works with the SAS language and does a lot of what the SAS base does. It does not have a GUI for Mac (yet), but it runs SAS code scripts from the command line. Most syntax 9.2 is supported, including macros.

From POV data analysis, JMP is much better than SAS, and has many features that SAS does not have - basically a dynamic selection of observations (often called purge). It also performs data manipulation - combines, transposes, etc., simple and good.

The last JMP can call R programs, so if you avoid SAS due to fees, then this is the way to go.

Oracle is another story that focuses more on databases and applications built on them. SAS is built in a different direction from report to data.
