We are in the middle to evaluate the choice of technology for redesigning the operator’s console application. The operator’s console as a hosted contact center has the ability to queue inactive calls and hold, answer, transfer active calls.
The old operator console uses Java Swing. We want to use the latest RIA (Flex / Silverlight) technology to exit the old version. But the question is, can Flex / Silverlight implement functions such as hold, transfer calls? Based on my experience, can Flex listen on a Java socket to receive XML data? Does it work well for voice data? Thank.
