What is the most important database book or textbook that every database administrator should read?

I want to learn more about databases (MySQL for beginners), in particular about choosing the right approach (for example, stored procedures and views and triggers for data aggregation) in a situation.

Perhaps this example shows what I mean: yesterday I asked a general SQL query about data aggregation and received a response that โ€œit dependsโ€ - this turned out to be absolutely correct. Now I am looking for a few lectures on databases that describe scripts, rather than focusing on syntax. Despite the fact that I urge everyone to offer the obvious too, I think that standard normalization / relational material is easy to find - personally, Iโ€™m rather looking for practical examples in different types of applications.

The best book that helped me was without a doubt SQL: A Beginner's Guide . It was one of the most boring books I read (very simple), but I learned a lot. A very, very useful book, I would not learn SQL with this. The bonus is that it teaches you SQL, not MySQL, not T-SQL, not PostgreSQL, not SQL Server: just plain SQL. It highlights the nuances where necessary, but otherwise it's just SQL.

Finally, and again, it depends on the database you need to get, you need to get a good book on database administration if you are going to be dBA. There are many things that are not so obvious until you read how to manage.

This is a book, but reads like a textbook. This is a really good starter:
