I run thousands of tasks per hour on the Google App Engine and about 0.1% of them fail even after several attempts. Ideally, I want them to stop trying and leave. However, due to the design of the application engine, they seem to just try again and again. I know that there is a grace time that increases with each unsuccessful execution, but I want them to exit after n attempts.
Can I do it? can a task count the number of attempts that it unsuccessfully completed?
