Eclipse Configuration on Ubuntu Linux

I have a problem viewing the recently installed Eclipse in my Ubuntu 10.04. The toolbars and tabs are just too wide, there is a lot of empty space above and below the text or images on them, so I want to make them narrower.

What does http://i32.tinypic.com/vpccyc.png look like

A quick google search did not give an answer on how to configure it, so I hope someone handled it. This is the same with any GTK theme, so I suppose something has to do with SWT configuration. Thanks in advance for any help.

PS Recently there was a similar question , which eventually gave advice on using the Clearlooks Compact GTK theme, but I do not think this is a good solution to this problem. I'm just fine with the Ambiance theme and hope there is a way to make SWT applications good without switching to another theme.

You can create a .gtkrc-2.0 file in your home directory. I am not currently on my Linux machine, so I cannot insert mine, but this guy posted it for Ubuntu. Googling for eclipseand .gtkrcshould find you more.
