Is there a way to automatically update iPhone apps?

I'm looking for a way to automatically launch an app store on an iPhone from an app. For example, a user logs into an application, and the server requires a specific version of the application. Can I open the application store or automatically grab the update, or does the user need to manually go through the application store?

The user needs to go through the AppStore in order to get the update. The user may choose not to update the application for any reason, and you cannot force update it.

Of course, you can go to the AppStore page and offer the user a choice.
