I am new to SharePoint development and ask a question.
I realized that SharePoint development could be 1. artifact-based and 2. assembly. In addition, based on the artifact, Designer is executed and supports remote connection to the server.
But what about development-based builds - with Visual Studio? Do we need to "copy" the required files from the production server to the development server? Or is there a “hack” for connecting to a server remotely with Visual Studio?
Thank you for your help.

When developing with Visual Studio for Sharepoint, you need to install SharePoint locally.
