Visual Studio 2010: Is it worth it for C ++ programming?

Should I upgrade from VS2008 to 2010 for programming in C / C ++? I'm interested in IDEs, compiler speed, and code generation (right now I'm not interested in the new features in C ++ 0x). I tested early beta versions, and the WPF interface worked sluggishly compared to the 2008 IDE.

Thank.

VS2010 RTM is much faster than beta. With the new WPF interface, if the development machine has RAM and a pretty good graphics card, it should work faster. It runs faster than VS2008 on my four-year-old laptop with 2 GB of RAM and a Radeon X1300 graphics card (I have not yet experienced a slowdown in what others still mention). Everything related to graphics in general is faster. The text editor also allows you to zoom in, good for viewing presentations and code, and you don't have to bother with font settings. Some other improvements in the text editor include selecting fields in which you can perform the same change on multiple lines at the same time, saving a little copy and paste time. Also improved code snippet management, and you can also make your own start page to make it more useful.
