Google app engine, maximum number of static files?

I am developing an application in a google application that will have user profiles. I looked through the Google App online tutorial, where I found that the maximum number of static files (application files and static files) should not exceed 3000. I am afraid if the user will be able to upload his images when the number of users increases. This restriction is only for a free quota or even after billing. In the document, it is referred to as an additional limit than the free quota.

Please offer.

Thanks in advance.

UPDATE (October 2011): In SDK 1.5.5 , the App Engine team expanded the maximum number of files from 3,000 to 10,000, which is a great incentive for users. In addition, the maximum individual file size has been increased from 10 MB to 32 MB. Another storage-related improvement is that users can now write to Google Cloud Storage directly from their App Engine application .
