AppWidget is updated only once

Question

I have a problem with appwidget. It has no configuration activity. When I install android:updatePeriodMillis="10000"(I know this should not be done, but it's just for testing) in the emulator, the function onUpdate(...)is called every 10 seconds. But when I install my application on my real phone (motorola milestone), it onUpdate(...)is called only when the widget is added to the main screen. And never again. Any ideas why this is happening on a real device, but not in an emulator?

What Sdk are you using?

Starting with Android sdk 1.6, the minimum widget update period is 30 minutes.
