SSL Https, is it that simple?

I'm just setting up an SSL scope on a website, and I'm just wondering ... is it as simple as adding HTTPS to a URL?

(is it assumed that I have a valid hosting company certificate?)

Or is there something else?

Thank.

You must configure the server to allow ssl connections . This includes creating a signed server request. You send this CSR to a certification authority (Verisign, etc.), and they send you a certificate for installation on the server. If you are behind a firewall, you need to open port 443.
