Is there a way to fake the name / email address for the author of the git ad I'm going to make?

I made a manual cherry command selection from one project into my git project, and I would like to pay tribute to the true author by forging information about the author somehow for this commit so that the true author is the author and I am the committer.

Any idea how to do this?

You can specify the author as a parameter git commit:

git commit --author='Erik Vold <[e-mail]>' ....
