Tracking Changes in Submodules

Question

Is there a way to save changes made to submodules in the parent repository? I use a library that I modified very little (just a couple of lines of code). I would prefer not to check the entire library in my repository if there is an alternative.

Changes to submodules can be checked locally in the submodule repository. They do not need to be returned to the original location of the submodule. However, if you are sharing your parent project with your team, you need to make submodule changes publicly available.

• the submodule inside foo is called "bar"
