How to set zmq socket timeout

I have client and server applications using zmq in the context of ZMQ_REQ. What I am experiencing is that when the server component is disconnected or unavailable, the client will wait until it is available to send its message. Is there a way to set the maximum timeout or timeout at the client level?

I would suggest that you can use zmq_poll(3)with a timeout greater than zero.
