What is the format of the data dictionary?

Are there standard examples / samples of data dictionaries that document the database.

The official standard is ISO / IEC 11179 ..., which will make your head sore and refers to the semantic elements of documented data, when we usually need both semantic and physical (tables, fields, etc.) documentation in the real-world data dictionary .

Personally, I prefer (how you implement it, it depends on you) the physical and optionally logical Entity-Relationship models on the first page, input screen, or wherever the user of the data dictionary first β€œhits” (this provides a meta layer for details below).
