Creating SEO-friendly URLs for accented characters

Question

We create our website for an SEO website, following the template below:

http://OurWebsite.com/MyArticle/Math/Spain/Glaño

As you can see, Glaño has a spelling character who may not like search engines. On the other hand, we cannot create the last URL!

Any suggestions for maintaining our current code generation code for processing Spanish or French records or do we need to change our approach?

I agree that if “Glano” doesn't mean something very rude, this is probably your best bet. Now I want to add that if you care about SEO, I would think that you have too many folders in the URL. One root, three subfolders, and then a file. This can hurt more than a special character.
